All Grown Up

Description

Sorry for such a dark background...but trust me, it looks much better with the bg than it did without it.

Inuyasha and Kagome's children all grown up and stuff. Essentially a re-make of this:

In The Future by NattiKay

...except that this time, they actually look like unique(ish) ADULTS rather than mediocre amine* teens! YAY!

*Misspelled on purpose.

Sooo yeah. Here's the siblings all over their 20s (Michi 29, Izzy 27, Kikyo 25, Yukio 24, Kiotsu 22, and Moriko 20). We also get to see a little peek at Kikyo with some children of her own. She has four (three sons and one daughter); shown here are the older two. Michi also has three children (two daughters and one son), but none of them made it in to this image, mostly for the "I-need-a-more-solid-design" reasons.

Adult heights:

Michi: 5'6"
Izayoi: 5'3"
Kikyo: 5'1"
Yukio: 5'5.5"
Kiotsu: 5'3.5"
Moriko: 5'2"

For comparisons' sake, Inuyasha is 5'6" and Kagome is 5'2" (at least, according to these pages...I don't know how accurate they are canonically, but at any rate these are the heights I use for my headcanon).

As far as outfit designs go...

Moriko's outfit was designed by Cassie and Izyaoi's is just the standard miko garb. Not much else to say about them.

Michi's is inspired by those of some modern martial artists, as he is a martial artist himself. Main difference is that I decided to make his gi a light bluish color instead of white. Not all that common, but I had a sensei once who had a blue gi, so why not? -shrug- I think it looks a bit better for the character.

Kiotsu enjoys physical labor/working out/stuff like that, especially construction, which is why his outfit doesn't cover much. He needs to keep cool. Also, he's a bit of a show-off when it comes to his strength. He's also a bit of a ladies' mad...no where near a Miroku-level womanizer, but he does like getting the attention of the girls. Don't worry, he does wear pants when he needs to, like when he's not working or in the winter.

I had some trouble with Yukio's outfit, but I think I've finally settled on something that suits him fairly well. The blue, especially the lighter shade on his vest thingy, is inspired by his name, which means "snow boy". Also matches his white hair well. XD At the same time, I left his a mild orange hue reminiscent of the darker shade he wore in childhood. It was a bit difficult to get the blue and the orange to match without either clashing or going way over the top (blue and orange are opposites, so they can complement each other well, but you have to know what you're doing). I think I chose a pretty decent hue. His gloves are made of oni-hide and are designed to channel his youki into his fists, giving him an advantage in hand-to-hand combat. Like Michi, he does a bit of martial arts, though he's not quite as familiar with swordsmanship as his brother.

Kikyo's outfit is probably the most startlingly different from her childhood outfit as there are absolutely no color similarities between the two. I think it suits her, though. I got the green flower idea from one of the background villagers I was looking at for design inspiration...don't really feel like tracking the screencap down again, though. She also still has a little bow in the back of her hair, but with thinner ribbon and it doesn't hold up a mini-ponytail like her old one or anything.

SO YAY.
