Old Meets New

Though y'know, despite drawing things like this as a joke, I don't really hate my past self (or 'sonas). I know I've said a few times that I wish I could go back and punch my past self in the face for drawing/designing so many ugly sparkledogs and saying dumb/naive things and being absolutely terrible at debating and tracing and using so many linearts etc., but when I think about it, that's really not true.

'Cuz yeah, my past self drew/said/designed some really cringeworthy stuff, even did stuff that current-me is frankly a bit ashamed of and would never encourage (i.e. tracing and recoloring screencaps and other art), but ultimately, all that stuff has come together and made me into who I am today. It's all just part of growing up...we all start somewhere, and do some stupid things, but we learn from those stupid things and become something all the better in the end.

Even now, I'm far from perfect, and have ways to go, both art-wise and personally. But I've come a long way, too, and each of those crappy stages were just another step towards where I am now.


...that doesn't necessarily make the stuff past me drew/said/designed less cringeworthy, though. XD
